Build is a new conference covering design & typography, accessibility, standards and best practice on the web - taking place on the 5th of November 2009 in the Waterfront Studio in Belfast.
The event will also be surrounded by related lectures, workshops, usergroups, networking events, meetups and parties - as well as a subsequent BarCamp unconference.
Eric is an American web design consultant and author best known for his advocacy work on behalf of web standards and CSS. In the past, he has written several books on CSS (including “Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide” for O’Reilly and Associates) and currently works as an independent consultant focussing on CSS and standards-oriented design. Meyer has previously worked for Netscape and is a current co-founder and curator of An Event Apart.
Wilson is a designer and web developer based in San Francisco, currently working at EveryBlock. Before co-founding EveryBlock in 2007, Miner was an interactive designer for Apple, where he worked on the first comprehensive redesign of Apple.com in more than 10 years. Miner was also involved in the original group that created the Django web framework. Wilson also writes at wilsonminer.com.
Ryan is the lead designer of social networking site Virb.com - which recently relaunched after being acquired by MediaTemple. He is widely recognized for his ability to weave typography, color, and layout into a classic yet unique design style, examples of which you’ll find on virb.com, justwatchthesky.com and thebignoob.com.
Mark is a designer and author based in Cardiff - most recently self-publishing his new book “A Practical Guide to Designing for the Web” - on the subject of techniques for designing your website using the principles of graphic design. He is currently working on a massive overhaul of the Drupal 7 User Experience.
User Experience Designer and CEO of Clearleft, Andy is the author of CSS Mastery, curates the dConstruct and UX London events and is responsible Silverback, a low cost usability testing application for the Mac. Andy is a regular on the international conferences and this is his first time speaking at Build.
Tim is a 23 year old interface designer working as a freelancer at his one-man company ‘Made by Elephant’ in Belgium. He is known for designing advent calendar for web geeks 24 Ways as well as the new site for Tweetie creators Atebits - and writes a popular blog at http://maxvoltar.com/.
